NASSAU, BAHAMAS – After less than three months of negotiations, the Bahamas Nurses Union officially signed a memorandum of understanding, Thursday.

Officials are calling it a good first step to encourage nurses to remain in country as many Bahamian nurses are relocating for a better way of life.

Some key details of the agreement include a retention plan, a housing initiative for those nurses who qualify, and a disaster and pandemic stipend.

Minister of State for Public Service Pia Glover-Rolle and Minister of Health and Wellness Dr. Michael Darville, dubbing the signing a victory for nurses in the country.
