Officer Accused Of Stealing $2.4K From Man Detained At Airport
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 26-year-old police corporal is accused of stealing thousands of dollars while searching a man this month.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 26-year-old police corporal is accused of stealing thousands of dollars while searching a man this month.
Prosecutors say Theophilus Cayard stole $2,400 from Emmanuel Saintelis.
The incident allegedly happened while Saintelis was briefly detained at the Lynden Pindling International Airport on May 9.
Cayard pleaded not guilty stealing from a person and was granted $2, 500 dollars bail.
His trial is set for October 27 before acting Assistant Chief Magistrate Shaka Serville.
Cayard is suspended from duty pending the conclusion of the case.
