NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A policeman, who could potentially face a murder charge after a coroner’s jury recommended he face a murder charge for killing an unarmed man, has been released on $9,900 emergency bail.

Reserve Constable 3099 Franklyn Armbrister spent the weekend in custody after a five-member jury ruled on Friday that the police-involved shooting of Dino Bain was murder.

Armbrister shot and killed Bain at Dean Street on December 28, 2023, the day before his 28th birthday.

The shooting was caught on his bodycam.

It’s up to the Director of Public Prosecutions to determine whether Armbrister will be tried for Bain’s death.
