Ole Miss Rolls in SEC Play; Freeman Stands Out In ACC

UNITED STATES – Yolett McPhee-McCuin and Ole Miss continue to keep pace in the most competitive conference in college hoops.

With a 71-45 win over the Auburn Tigers, Ole Miss improved to 19–4 overall and 6–2 in SEC play.

Coach Yo’s squad has one 5 of their last 6, including wins over ranked teams – the Oklahoma Sooners and Vanderbilt Commodores.

Both were ranked no.5 in the nation when those games took place.

Ole Miss is currently ranked no.13.

Meanwhile, Syracuse forward Donnie Freeman bounced back from his worst game of the season to have one of his best.

Coming off a win over Notre Dame where he had just 7 points on 1-4 shooting, Freeman was dominant in last night’s 87-77 interconference loss to North Carolina.

He led the Orange with 23 points and 8 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Freeman’s performance stood out and continues to highlight his growing role and impact, averaging 18 points and 7 rebounds per game.

NCAA Basketball

FIU Women’s Basketball standout Rhema Collins has been named Conference USA Player of the Week following a dominant road swing for the Panthers.

The Panthers split a pair of games on the road.

In game 1, Collins scored a game-high 19 points on 6-10 shooting, went 7-8 from the free-throw line, with four steals, and pulled down 11 rebounds to record her conference-leading 10th double-double of the season.

Against Delaware she scored a game-high 20 points with 9 rebounds and a career high 7 steals.

This marks the third time this season Collins has earned C-USA player of the week honors.

On the season, she’s averaging 18.6 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per game.

The Panthers now return home for a two-game homestand, set to face Western Kentucky on February 5, followed by Middle Tennessee on February 7.

Basketball

The Bahamas Basketball Federation has released a preliminary roster for window two of the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers as the national team looks to build on its opening set of games.

The BBF will eventually select its final roster from this list of 23 players which has a wide cross section of talent ranging from national team vets like Kino Burrows, Kentwan Smith, and Travis Munnings, to newcomers Jacob Hanna and JJ Wats.

There’s pro talent from leagues all over the world so availability will be key in determining the final roster.

The list includes Edriel Martinborough, Godfrey Rolle III, Aaron Levarity, Kai Jones, Travis Munnings, Tavario Miller, Danrad Knowles, Michael Carey, Kadeem Coleby, Lathaniel Bastian, Jacob Hanna, Jonathan Watts Jr, David Nesbitt, Garvin Clarke, Zane Knowles, Samuel Hunter, Kentwan Smith, Isaiah Mobley, Jaraun Burrows, Jackson Jacobs, Domnick Bridgewater, Franco Miller and Radshad Davis.

The Bahamas will compete in window  two with road games scheduled in Jamaica and Puerto Rico.

They face Jamaica in Kingston on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the National Indoor Sports Centre, before traveling to Puerto Rico to play on Sunday, march 1, 2026, at the Coliseo Rubén Rodríguez in Bayamón.
