NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Former Prime Minister Perry Christie was one of four former leaders appointed to the CARICOM Eminent Persons Group tasked with finding a solution to the issues in Haiti.

With his experience on the matter during his time as prime minister, Christie says he’s looking forward to the intense work ahead.

The ongoing turmoil in Haiti has spilled into neighboring territories as countries like The Bahamas saw a spike in migrant apprehensions.

The Eminent Persons Group met in Jamaica last week with leaders from Haiti.

Christie says to be selected was a compliment.
