PAHO On Covid And Vaccines

Director of Pan American Health Organization, Dr. Carissa Etienne, noting that as of last week, approximately 1.6 million cases of COVID 19 and 4,800 related deaths were reported, adding that a growing proportion of cases are being caused by the Omicron BA4 and BA5 sub-lineages.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Director of Pan American Health Organization, Dr. Carissa Etienne, noting that as of last week, approximately 1.6 million cases of COVID 19 and 4,800 related deaths were reported, adding that a growing proportion of cases are being caused by the Omicron BA4 and BA5 sub-lineages.

Dr. Eitienne noting that the virus knows no boundaries, particularly with the return of international travel. She says countries must continue to promote vaccinations.
