NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It’s Holy Week and that means hot cross buns and fried fish are on the minds of Bahamians throughout the country.

Our Sasha Lightbourne popped into the new duff today where the owners are strongly advising customers to place orders early. Here’s that story.

So how does The New Duff make its hot cross buns?

From there, the rolls are placed on a baking sheet and they go into the proofer for roughly 20 minutes, and then off to bake. After that comes the sweetest part – the glazing and the icing.

While they didn’t want to show every step of the process, part-owner of the New Duff Lazar Charlton tells us why their buns are the ones you want on your plate this Good Friday.

The New Duff’s hot cross buns come in different flavors, including plain, raisin, guava swirl, coconut, and the newest flavor – a savory garlic butter hot cross bun.
