NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Given the grim outlook from the Works and Utilities Minister, Prime Minister Philip Davis says there’s no need to worry about BPL’s financial stability while he’s at the helm.

Davis also responded to the outrage following the announcement of the hike in BPL bills.

He says while he understands Bahamians are concerned, he says the move to hike up prices is strategic.

The decision to increase power bills comes as many Bahamians are still grappling with global inflation.

Earlier this year, Davis said an increase in power bills would be a last resort.

Today, the Prime Minister says the company is at that point.
