PM Tours Troubled PMH

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – After a week of the Princess Margaret Hospital being dragged on social media, Prime Minister Philip Davis, along with the Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr. Michael Darville, leading a tour of the embattled facility this morning, surveying ongoing renovations.

Amid public outcry for major improvements at the Princess Margaret Hospital, the nation’s leader, Philip Davis and Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr. Michael Darville were taken on a tour of the property which is currently undergoing extensive renovations while still catering to the needs of the public.

Some of those patients, being treated in less than ideal conditions.

Darville noting that the PMH has the potential to hold some 500 beds.

He says these renovations move the hospital one step closer to that reality.

Managing Director of the Public Hospitals Authority, Aubynette Rolle, explains that although the hospital has entered into an agreement with doctor’s hospital, not all of those patients are in conditions to be moved.

She says numbers have risen from 356, to 424, creating some challenges.

Each ward has varying completion dates, but officials say renovations are expected to be completed on target.
