PM: “We’re not the Culprits”
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Leaders from across the Caribbean gathering this week to discuss climate change and how it continues to impact the region. As he wrapped up the Caribbean Regional Heads of Government Meeting, Prime Minister Philip Davis says they are pushing more than a message about advocacy.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Leaders from across the Caribbean gathering this week to discuss climate change and how it continues to impact the region. As he wrapped up the Caribbean Regional Heads of Government Meeting, Prime Minister Philip Davis says they’re pushing more than a message about advocacy.
Prime Minister Davis addressing the country’s efforts to protect against and combat climate change, as leaders from across the Caribbean met to discuss a regional position for COP27, which will be held in Egypt in November.
Prime Minister Davis says as it relates to carbon credits, it’s important to ensure that emitting countries and corporations live up to their commitment to lower their carbon footprint.
Island-states like The Bahamas, which are vulnerable to hurricanes, are considered the biggest victims of climate change.
According to the Inter-American Development Bank’s projections, climate change losses for the region could total more than $20 billion annually.
