VATICAN CITY – Pope Leo is calling on catholics to fast and pray this Friday for peace in the Middle East and Ukraine.

At his first public audience since returning from summer break, Leo noted Friday’s Marian Feast day and urged the faithful to ask god to “grant peace and justice” and comfort those suffering from war.
The Pope has repeatedly appealed for ceasefires in Gaza and Ukraine and for dialogue to end fighting.
