NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Nassau Cruise Port CEO Mike Maura Jr. Says his team collaborated with experts on the historical significance, meaning, and cultural significance of our biggest expression of culture.

His comments came as The Bahamas Museum of Junkanoo officially opened at the cruise port.

As it turns out, the location selected for the museum was no coincidence.

The museum opening included a Junkanoo rushout, a performance from the National Youth Choir, and spoken word from Arlene Nash Ferguson.

Tourism Minister Chester Cooper says he’s proud of the balance between education and entertainment for both tourists and Bahamians.
