Prince, Boise State Eliminated From Playoffs

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – The VRBO Fiesta Bowl was not only the first-ever CFP quarterfinal, but was also a matchup between two teams with unblemished fiesta bowl records – Prince Strachan’s Boise State Broncos and the Penn State Nittany Lions.

In the end, Penn State remained undefeated with a 31 – 14 win over the Broncos.

Strachan finished with 4 catches for 40 yards averaging 10 yards per reception.

His longest catch was a 13 yard gain in the 4th quarter.

With 30 seconds left in the 3rd Strachan caught a touchdown pass which was called back due to an illegal use of hands penalty.

At that point the Lions’ lead would have been cut to 3, but the Broncos ended up throwing and interception 2 plays later.

NCAA Basketball

2024 ended with a busy day for Bahamians in college basketball.

Baylor bears guard VJ Edgecombe scored 19 points in their big 12 opener to defeat Utah 81 – 56.

Deyton Albury Utah State Aggies moved to 13-1 after they defeated Nevada, 69 – 64

Romad Dean scored 8 points in the Fordham Rams 88 – 63 loss to St. Louis.

Donnie Freeman scored 7 points and his Syracuse Orange fell to Wake Forest 81 – 71.

Strachan finished his sophomore campaign with 25 receptions for 304 yards, both career highs.

NCAA Football

Tennis legend Mark Knowles said that despite the difference in their signature sports, he and his son Graham share a few similarities.

Following an accolade filled high school career at quarterback, graham recently completed his true freshman season with the Georgia Tech yellow jackets.

Georgia Tech lost 35-27 to Vanderbilt in the Birmingham Bowl and finished 7-6 on the season.

Mark, a former world number one in doubles, said the lessons he learned on the tennis court can translate to Graham’s journey at quarterback.
