Prince Harry Hails Legal Win Over Murdoch Newspapers

UNITED KINGDOM – Prince Harry has secured a significant legal victory against Rupert Murdoch’s UK newspaper group, News Group Newspapers (NGN), which admitted to unlawful actions by The Sun for the first time. NGN settled Harry’s lawsuit, which accused the paper of illegal information gathering between 1996 and 2011, paying substantial damages reported to be in the eight-figure range. NGN also acknowledged that it had intruded into the private life of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.

Harry and co-claimant Tom Watson hailed the case as a “monumental victory,” especially as NGN had long denied any wrongdoing.
