UNITED STATES – The Trump administration has expanded a policy allowing undocumented immigrants to be deported without a court hearing if they cannot prove two years of continuous U.S. residency. The administration argues that these changes will enhance national security and reduce costs. Under the new policy, border agents can now apply this expedited removal process nationwide, including at the U.S.-Canada border and in maritime sectors like Florida.

Additionally, refugee travel has been suspended, leaving thousands, including Afghans approved for resettlement, stranded. The Department of Homeland Security has also ended restrictions on immigration enforcement in schools and other sensitive areas. Legal challenges to the policy are expected, according to political analysts.
