NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prosecutors are no longer pursuing an appeal against the grant of bail to murder accused Lynden Vincent.

The appeal was officially abandoned, paving the release for the 47-year-old accused of the October 31 shooting murder of Patrice Sawyer.

She was gunned down in front of the Johnson Road home she shared with her parents shortly after someone called her outside.

Prosecutors say Vincent pulled the trigger. He was formally charged with Sawyer’s murder on November 7.

Senior Justice Bernard Turner granted Vincent $30,000 bail on November 25 after his lawyers alleged that his diabetes was not being properly managed at the prison.

However, the pending appeal suspended the judge’s decision, resulting in Vincent’s continued detention.
