NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Government is looking to sign off on an industrial agreement for the public service this week, according to State Minister Pia Glover-Rolle.

The State Minister says the Labour Relations Unit recently wrapped up negotiations with The Bahamas Public Services Union.

Bahamas Public Service Union President Kimsley Ferguson recently says he’s not satisfied with what was negotiated in the agreement. However, Glover-Rolle is saying otherwise.

Both sides have been locked in negotiations for quite some time.

Tensions hit to a boiling point last year when members of the union gathered outside Parliament looking to get some answers.

As for what’s next for the Labour Relations Unit, Glover-Rolle says the goal is to be proactive.
