NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Russian President Vladimir Putin inspecting a training ground for mobilized troops and seen firing shots from a rifle in footage apparently to show his support for soldiers heading to fight in Ukraine.

Footage shows a figure who appears to be Putin laying flat on the ground and firing a rifle. In the next frame, Putin is seen dusting off his overcoat, slapping a soldier on the shoulder and apparently wishing him good luck.

Putin’s visit coming a day after he raised Russia’s war footing and declared martial law in four occupied regions of Ukraine that he moved to annex last month in a step condemned as illegal by Ukraine, its allies and the United Nations General Assembly.
