FLORENCE, ALABAMA – Deyton Albury singlehandedly tried to secure a win for his Queens University Royals on the road against the North Alabama Lions in Florence, scoring 29 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and dishing out 7 assists as his team fell 90-84.

The teams dueled all night with Queens even taking a 6-point lead with 7 minutes in the 2nd half, thanks to an acrobatic layup by Albury. But they couldn’t hold the Lions off as they regained the lead about a minute later thanks to a three-pointer from Dallas Howell.

Albury has stepped up for Queens recently, averaging 22 points in the past 5 games. He’s led the team in points this season, their first as a Division I program, and assists and is 0.3 off the lead in rebounds.

The Royals are 8-14 on the season and 2-5 in the conference. They’ll have a chance to get back in the win column on Thursday when they play Eastern Kentucky.
