NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The agreement was first established in 2005 to support mutual security operations between the United States National Guard and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF).

It’s a goal they are in constant pursuit of, according to Commodore of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Floyd Moxey.

During his remarks at Friday morning’s ceremony, the commodore told the audience of dignitaries, military officers, and media that they are truly appreciative of what the partnership has achieved.

Adjutant General of Rhode Island and Commander of Rhode Island’s National Guard, General Andrew Chevalier, shares similar sentiments.

General Chevalier says the history between the two nations dates back to the American Revolution centuries ago.

In more recent times, he says over the last two decades, Rhode Island’s National Guard has formed an incredible bond with the RBDF.
