NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It is being described as the phoenix rising, the re-opening of the Regency Theater on Grand Bahama.

The premier performance arts center was destroyed during the passage of Hurricane Dorian in 2019, but thanks to the hard work, dedication, resilience and donations of the Grand Bahama community, the beloved theater is now open once again.

Rupert Hayward, thanking past and present executive teams that worked tirelessly toward this special moment.

Past President, Paulette Russell, led the executive team in 2019. She recalls the countless hours that went into gutting the building and the road to re-opening. She says it was all a labour of love.

Theater lovers say they are excited to see the regency center return to its former glory.
