NASSAU, BAHAMAS – An independent contractor in the Ministry of National Security is defending the government’s decision to appoint Rodney Moncur to the same position.

Dr. Carlos Reid tells our Berthony McDermott that some Bahamians are selfish.

Amid criticism following Moncur’s appointment as a crime consultant, Dr. Carlos Reid is weighing in.

Reid said Bahamians are being selfish and should trust the decisions made by the government.

But, the longtime community activist’s comments aren’t sitting too well with everyone as Bahamians took to social media to express their views.

This resident said, “You don’t vote in a party and hibernate for five years.”

Another said, “If the government is showing no wisdom the people should speak not be silent.”

But, this resident agreed saying, “Facts. We sure have become selfish.”

Reid served as a consultant to the ministry under former Minister the late Dr. Bernard Nottage.

He was reinstated back in November and shared the importance of the roles.
