PENNSYLVANIA – A police sniper in Butler, Pennsylvania, potentially saved lives by shooting and damaging the rifle of a gunman targeting Donald Trump, according to an investigation by Congressman Clay Higgins.

The sniper’s shot disrupted the assailant’s aim, moments before the gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, was fatally shot by a secret service sniper.

The attack, which left one dead and two critically injured, has led to heightened security around Trump, including the reassignment of secret service agents from President Biden and plans for bulletproof glass at future rallies.

The FBI is investigating the incident.
