Residents React to Sailing Being Made Nat’l Sport
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – During the National Family Island Regatta sailors reacted to the national sport being changed to sailing; on Monoday we got reaction from residents here in New Providence.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – During the National Family Island Regatta sailors reacted to the national sport being changed to sailing; on Monday we got reaction from residents here in New Providence.
Sailing was officially declared as the national sport during the National Family Island Regatta in Exuma.
These residents are in agreement with the move as the sport relates more to Bahamian culture.
One resident sharing that while he is okay with sailing being the national sport, he believes younger Bahamians are more interested in international sports such as basketball.
Another resident says while he approves of sailing, he would like to see more people participating in the sailing events at regattas.
