UNITED STATES – The ranks of American professional baseball continue to swell with Bahamian talent as Friday night was a busy one.

From the minors all the way to the big leagues, here’s what Bahamians got up to Friday night:

Antoan Richardson, first base coach of the New York Mets and his team started off the season sizzling hot with a 21-11 record, good for first place in the National League East. Despite this, they dropped back-to-back games to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday and Thursday.

However, they got back to their winning ways on Friday, taking down the St. Louis Cardinals 9-3.

Pete Alonzo and Brandon Nimmo hit home runs, and Juan Soto went 2-5 with a single and a double. Clay Holmes got the win on the mound.

Kristian Robinson seems to be rediscovering what made him the top prospect in the Diamondbacks organization when he was signed in 2019. The 6’3” outfielder with the big bat and the wheels hit a trio of singles to help his Double-A Amarillo Sodpoodles beat the Midland Rockhounds 6-4. He also stole his fourth base of the season.

Robinson is having an outstanding season so far, hitting .277 with a .966 OPS and 5 home runs. He’s back on his major league trajectory.

Sebastian Walcott gave his Frisco Roughriders exactly what they needed to squeak past the Wichita Wind Surge 3-2. The top prospect in the Texas Rangers’ organization had a hit and scored a run to aid in the effort.

Ryan Reckley went 1-4 with a single to help his San Jose Giants beat the Modesto Nuts 4-1.

Jazz Chisholm is expected to miss a month. The Yankees’ 2nd baseman has been diagnosed with an oblique strain, an injury suffered on Tuesday night’s blowout of the Orioles.  The Yanks are currently in first place in the American League East, and they’re going to try to maintain without his bat, his speed, and his glove.
