UNITED STATES – Sean “Diddy” Combs is appealing his conviction and four-year prison sentence, according to a notice filed Monday in federal court in New York.

Combs was found guilty on two prostitution-related counts after an eight-week trial in July but cleared of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

His attorneys argue the statute used in the case should not apply and say they’ll fight to have the verdict overturned.

Combs is serving his sentence at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he’s already credited with a year of time served.
