NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The search is on to find a candidate suitably qualified to fill the role of president of the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute.

Education Minister Glenys Hanna-Martin says the search for a new leader to head that institution is important as they project an unprecedented thrust in technical and vocational learning.

Chairman of the Presidential Search Committee, Leonard Sands says the committee is taking their responsibility seriously as they believe this process is another step in nation building.

The new president is expected to begin work during the second quarter of 2023.

As for the criteria?

Sands says ideally the new president will be a Bahamian citizen. However, candidates should possess other qualifications like an earned terminal degree from a recognized and accredited institution of higher learning, career and technical education experience, and at least ten years of senior leadership experience.
