U.S.A. – Sebastian Walcott is on a fast track to the major leagues but the Texas Rangers’ number one prospect has a unique perspective on the journey with each new milestone.
Walcott recently became just the second Bahamian player named to the MLB futures games which features the top prospects in all of Minor League Baseball.
The 18-year-old infielder is ranked no.1 by the Rangers and no.73 in mlb pipeline’s top 100.
Walcott continued that momentum right out of the All-Star break.
Through three games against Greensboro, he’s hitting .417 (5-12) with two RBIs and two runs.
In his first season at the high-a level with the hickory crawdads, Walcott is hitting .243 with a .746 ops, 28 rbi, 12 stolen bases, 44 runs scored and seven home runs.

Jazz Chisholm’s Miami marlins and Antoan Richarson’s New York Mets did just that this weekend in the NL East rivalry.
The marlins took a 2-1 series lead into the finale Monday night at Loan Depot Park in Miami.
Chisholm was the driving force behind the marlins’ 4-2 win Sunday afternoon.
His home run in the fourth inning gave Miami a 3-1 lead. He sent a slider from rookie starter Christian Scott into the Mets’ bullpen in right field for his 13th homer of the season.
Chisholm currently leads the Marlins in several categories with a .251 average, .322 obp, and 45 rbi. His 13 home runs ranks second behind Bryan de la Cruz with 16.
Baseball
Breyias Dean had a standout season in year two of the Dominican Summer League and earned all-star honors for the national league.
The Miami Marlins prospect was named to the DSL’s midsummer classic on Sunday at the Milwaukee Brewers complex in Santo Domingo.
Dean is hitting .297 with a .442 obp, .848 ops, 19 rbi, 17 runs, 8 stolen bases, and two home runs.

Jones announced the release of her own Nike KD 17 Bahamas player edition.
The special edition sneaker, pays homage to her Bahamian heritage with a detailed debossed map of The Bahamas on the heel.
