NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A second suspect had been charged with murder and armed robbery following the shooting death of Reserve Inspector Lernex Williams last June.

Former wanted suspect Shavarous Woodside, 45, appeared before Acting Assistant Chief Magistrate Shaka Serville charged with Williams’ murder and armed robbery.

Woodside and Ronald Telfort are now charged in relation to the June 15, 2025 incident outside of the Royal Bank of Canada Palmdale Branch and are behind bars.

Both men are next due to appear in court on April 6 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.

Prosecutors say on the day in question Williams was accosted by a third robber Joseph Sinclair as he was about to deposit $38,854.10, belonging to two service stations at the bank.

An ensuing shootout left Williams and suspected robber Joseph Sinclair dead.

Prosecutors say Telfort and Woodside left Sinclair behind and fled with the deposit bags.
