Senator’s Son Receives $8K Bail After Firearm Charge

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The son of a Free National Movement senator is facing firearm and ammunition possession charges.

Police arrested Recruit Constable 4394 Dreyon Henfield on March 12 after he allegedly brandished a loaded .45 pistol while at a bar on Cowpen Road.

Henfield, who was fired from the police force yesterday, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment before Magistrate Lennox Coleby.

Bail was set at $8,000 with two sureties and the defendant is required to sign in at the Carmichael Road Police Station on Mondays and Wednesdays before 6pm.

Henfield’s trial is set to begin on May 2.

His father Senator Darren Henfield and other relatives were in court with him.
