NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A judge has set bail at $9,900 for a senior policeman accused of raping a woman he knows.

Prosecutors allege Superintendent Kyle Capron raped the 25-year-old woman in a police car on October 23.

Justice Neil Brathwaite overruled objections to his release by the prosecution and set bail with strict conditions.

Prosecutors said that Capron contacted the woman when she was reporting the matter to police and while she was at the hospital, putting her in fear.

Capron is required to surrender his passport, wear an ankle monitor, and report to a police station twice weekly.

He’s banned from contacting his alleged victim either directly or through his agents.

Any breach of the conditions will send Capron back to prison.
