NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A former policeman convicted of plotting the murder of his love rival will have to wait a little longer to learn his fate.

Former Corporal Darren Davis appeared before Justice Renae McKay for a sentencing hearing today.

But the decision has been put off to February.

Last year, a jury found Davis guilty of planning the December 3, 2022 fatal shooting of Jayson Whitfield.

The 43-year-old was shot multiple times while in his government-issued car in Garden Hills.

Prosecutors alleged and six of the nine jurors accepted that Davis was motivated by jealousy after his girlfriend left him for Whitfield.
