TURKS & CAICOS – Two people were rescued after a small plane from Florida crash-landed in the waters of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force reported the crash around noon on Saturday, about 10 miles off Providenciales island. The aircraft experienced engine failure.

A search operation, assisted by the U.S. Coast Guard, rescued both passengers, who were taken to a local hospital and are in stable condition.

The plane had departed from Palm Beach, Florida, heading to Providenciales island.

Authorities have not yet released the names or nationalities of the passengers.
