NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Social media personality Brittany Harris is facing intentional libel charges after she allegedly made defamatory remarks about two public figures in videos that were published on Facebook.

The charges stem from posts that were made in 2024.

The 34-year-old is accused making a defamatory post about Minister of Energy and Transport JoBeth Coleby-Davis in October and another about popular defense lawyer Bjorn Ferguson in April.

Harris, who lives in Canada, was arrested on the charges when she returned to The Bahamas, last week.

She denied both allegations at her arraignment before Assistant Chief Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux.

Bail was set at $5,500 for each case.

Harris is allowed to return to Canada is expected to check in with police in Hamilton, Ontario as part of her bail conditions.

Her trial is expected to begin on February 25.

She could face up to two years in prison if convicted.
