NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Social Services Minister Obie Wilchombe says he’s hoping to meet with church leaders this month to discuss the issue of marital rape.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Social Services Minister Obie Wilchombe says he’s hoping to meet with church leaders this month to discuss the issue of marital rape and possible amendments to legislation.
The issue of gender-based violence has been a touchy subject in recent months.
In February, Prime Minister Philip Davis said “rape is rape”, adding he will be guided by recommendations made according to the national gender-based violence law review reform.
This, while the religious community hasn’t been too receptive to the idea.
