NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Compelling head to head matchups, multiple pre qualifiers, and athletes vying for coveted national spots are expected to set the tone for a competitive CARIFTA trials.
The Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations will host the splice and connect 2025 CARIFTA trials, April 4-6 at the original Thomas A. Robinson Stadium under the theme, “We Name Bahamas.”
It’s been an active season so far with 61 pre-qualifiers and meet organizers expect over 500 student athletes to participate in the upcoming trials.
Splice and connect operations manager Kenny Basden said supporting youth sports is a part of the company’s mandate to assist nation building.
With the high volume of pre qualifiers, qualifying in an event does not guarantee an athlete’s spot on the CARIFTA roster, rather, head-to-head competition at the trials will take precedent.
A qualified athlete must finish in the top two of their events to guarantee themselves a spot on the team for that respective event.
The 2025 CARIFTA track and field championships will take place April 19-21, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
