GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – The goal is to clean 10 to 12 beaches in Grand Bahama this year and with such a mammoth task, tourism officials still hoping for more support from the community and local organizations.

Jermaine Johnson manages the Sustainable Investment Department. He says, last year, they collected 30,000 pounds of garbage.

But it’s more than just a clean-up, as earth care founder, Gail Woon, says the findings become vital data for a global report, which Grand Bahama has been contributing to since 1988.

If you’d like to participate, you can reach out to the ministry of tourism to see how you can help this September 21st!
