SVG: Roman Catholic Priest Charged With Rape

ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES – A Roman Catholic Priest has been charged with four counts of sexual offences in St. Vincent and the Grenadines court.

On Monday, the Priest, who is a foreign national, was arraigned on two counts of rape and two counts of indecent assault and appeared on camera before Magistrate John Ballah.

Media reports say the cleric is alleged to have committed unlawful sex acts on a teenage female and was not asked to plead. He was granted bail and a preliminary inquiry is expected to determine if there is enough evidence to send the matter to trial.
