GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – A Grand Bahama school doing it’s part to give back to their very own after being faced with tragedy. 

Grandmother of Jarion Ford, a student at Tabernacle Baptist Academy who lost his mother during Hurricane Dorian.

She says a $20,000 surgery is needed to repair his hearing. As a result, a Go Fund Me page was created but she says it didn’t receive much traction. 

Now the school has stepped in to assist but the helping hand did not stop there.

Jashell Bodie, who is a 5th grade student at the school, also receiving some assistance as her family recently lost their home in a fire back in May. 

Her mother, Michelle Bodie says the school has been extremely supportive.

As they pick up the pieces, she says they are now in the process of trying to find somewhere to live.

Both the Bodie and Ford families are thankful for the school’s help during their tough times.
