NASSAU, BAHAMAS – For the first time, guests and the locals have been selected to enjoy specially curated three-course menus at some of Baha Mar’s most celebrated restaurants, with prix-fixe options – it’s called Taste of Baha Mar.

I had the chance to get an on-hands taste of the experience, my choice – Katsuya – a staple restaurant in the Grand Hyatt property at Baha Mar serving up five-star Japanese cuisine.

And we were in for a treat joined by social media influencer Kedar Clarke and Nassau Guardian Digital Editor Krystel Brown, a four-course meal was what waited for us.

That was course one – crispy brussel sprouts, salmon tataki and a green salad and that was followed by the second course – truffle chicken gyoza, vegetable roll, and spicy tuna crispy rice.

And then it was time for the main course.

Now no meal can be complete without dessert and for us Katsuya served up a decadent and rich chocolate lava cake with matcha ice cream.

Dining with us throughout the evening was Baha Mar’s Sales and Marketing Director Nadia Bowe, who shared with me why the resort decided to put on this culinary initiative.

“September is the time of year where we see a lot of locals come to the property either for dining, having fun or staycations, so we thought to ourselves what can we do to enhance local attraction and as you know our restaurant are some of the top restaurants on the island and why not have these special rates just geared towards everybody local, all the residents to come on down and try us out,” she said.

Bowe said to take advantage you just need to book a reservation.

“Do as you would do normally on our website which is www.bahamar.com,” she said.

“You head on over ti the culinary experiences and you go ahead and book an actual reservation to the restaurant of your choice so right now we have Marcus, we have Cinco, Shuang Ba, we have Katsuya, we also have Costa. The price point does range starting from like $58 per person plus, plus and then you’d have Katsuya which can actually range in the $70 range plus, plus.”
