NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamas Taxi Cab Union President Wesley Ferguson says taxi drivers are hesitant to hold a peaceful protest, amid what he’s describing low morale among taxi drivers.

The Taxi Cab Union has been pushing for a rate increase and for a resolve to what they are describing as an over-saturation of taxi plates.

Ferguson says taxi drivers feel there isn’t much room to respond.

Ferguson reiterated that all attempts to reach out to the minister were unsuccessful.

One day after Transport Minister Jobeth Coleby-Davis was unable to say how many taxi cab plates were distributed, the union president says this is a first for the industry.
