NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A first for Bahamian cricket, the Senior Men’s National Team advanced to the next step in the qualification process for the International Cricket Council’s T-20 World Cup 2026.

The Bahamas emerged as one of the top three teams at the americas sub regional in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The team concluded the tournament with a 6-2 recorded, highlighted by Monday’s win over Mexico to clinch their position in the next round.

The Bahamas, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands will join Canada in the regional final tentatively scheduled for summer 2025.

NBA

Buddy Hield celebrates his birthday today but much of the storylines surrounding his Golden State Warriors recently have been about roster construction.

After a 10-2 start to the season, the warriors have struggled, falling to 14-11 with last Sunday’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

In a last week’s trade with the Brooklyn Nets, the Warriors added Dennis Schroeder to an already crowded back court in the midst of their 2-8 skid.

Schroder is averaging career highs across the board at 18.4 points, 3 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game.

Hield is averaging 14.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, while shooting 43 from beyond the arc.

The Warriors may not be done making deals in what is expected to be an active market ahead of the NBA’s trade deadline on February 6, 2025.

Golden State has been linked to heat forward Jimmy Butler, Trailblazers center Robert Williams III and others.
