NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 17-year-old boy is behind bars after facing a manslaughter charge in relation to the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old woman.

Prosecutors say the teen, whose name has been withheld because he’s a minor, shot Maigen Bethel on June 13.

According to police, Bethel and other females, went to a home at Vispen Road, where they confronted a man and a woman at the home.

That’s when the teen allegedly opened fire, killing Bethel.

The teen didn’t have to enter a plea to the charge when he stood before Assistant Chief Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux.

Bail was denied and he was remanded to the Simpson Penn School For Boys.

He’s back in court on October 1 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
