NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A high school student who brought Rice Krispy Treats laced with weed to school has avoided jail time by paying a fine.

Nineteen-year-old Thomas Graham pleaded guilty to a charge of marijuana possession with intent to supply when he appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney.

Police were called to Doris Johnson High School on September 13 after 27 drug-laced treats were found in graham’s bag.

The Jamaican national was arrested and charged as a result.

He was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine to avoid serving six months behind bars. Graham was also placed on probation for one year. 

He will be jailed for six months if he’s convicted of other offenses while on probation.
