TEXAS – The death toll from devastating flash floods in Central Texas has climbed to at least 100, including 28 children according to officials and news reports.

Most of the victims were found in Kerrville and at Camp Mystic, a Christian girls’ camp in Texas Hill County, where 27 campers and counselors died.

Search crews are still looking for at least 10 missing girls and one counselor, as heavy rain threatens rescue efforts.

Reports reveal Kerr County scrapped a flood warning system 8 years ago after failing to secure funding.
