GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Twelve acres of lush foliage serves as a home for an array of indigenous and migratory birds and butterflies.

Park Manager, Marilyn Laing describes the Garden of The Groves as a natural sanctuary rooted in the island’s rich history.

“Anyone who has not visited Grand Bahama before…you have to come to the place that’s dedicated to to the people who founded Freeport and that’s Garden of the Groves named after Wallace Groves.”

So it’s a place where you can just chill out, have activities, [have] that special party…birthday party, whatever you’re having there’s a place and a spot for you,” she said.

Even without a special event planned, you can still visit the park to indulge in a cool beverage as you listen to the tranquil sounds of the park’s waterfall, and uncover the monuments placed along the trail or create life time Kodak moments with your family.

John Whitby, a visitor from Pennsylvania, says he was initially captivated by the gardens while doing research ahead of his trip, and says his internet discovery did not disappoint.
