NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A new book is on the way that dares to answer some big questions. What is joy? Why do so many of us struggle to find it? And how do we actually live out the joy of the Lord? Our Daniella Dorsette talks one on one with the author. Author Kerel Pinder is set to release her new book, Hello Joy, on November 15 at Bahamas Harvest. She gives us a first look at the message behind the book and how it points readers toward true freedom.

Kerel Pinder – Author, Hello Joy
“The book is a mixture between psychology and faith of how do we reprogram our brain to begin to think like the scriptures, what the scriptures say. So the enemy plants thoughts in our brain, even from a, as a little child. He plans thoughts into our brain and those thoughts become our actions and those become the things that we live out.”

Kerel Pinder – Author, Hello Joy
“So it’s really about how do we live out Second Corinthians 10 and five to capture every thought and make that obedient to Christ.”

A book like this begs a big question: Why does it matter and who is it for? Pinder says the journey to joy is not always a pretty one.

Kerel Pinder – Author, Hello Joy
“About three years ago, the Lord asked me to move to Nassau. He asked me to leave my sorority. It’s just a lot of challenging experiences and just trying to understand what is God doing in this season and thinking that joy was often in a destination or in my plan to get to that destination.”

Kerel Pinder – Author, Hello Joy
“That’s when I realized, I think there’s a lot of people who go through that, a lot of people that don’t know how to have a heart revelation of the joy of the Lord.”

So what would a true road map to living out the joy of the Lord look like?

Kerel Pinder – Author, Hello Joy
“Having time to just sit in stillness with the Lord, um, giving your. The first part of your day to the Lord. So instead of waking up and deciding to scroll on your phone, waking up and to read the word of God and not getting distracted.”

Kerel Pinder – Author, Hello Joy
“Our brain has pathways and we can reprogram those pathways. So the reason why we continue to think negative and do negative is because we’re not reprogramming our brain. So when we decide to take those scriptures, write ’em down every day. Cite them as you wake up. Another thing that I did is I recorded myself talking about ’em, and sometimes that’s the first thing I listen to when I wake up, because that’s the best time when you’re in between sleep and wake, that’s the best time to reprogram your brain.”

So the question now is, are you ready to reprogram the negative thoughts planted by the enemy and step into the joy God has already promised? And if you answered yes, Pinder’s book hopes to help you on that journey.
