NASSAU, BAHAMAS – This year’s theme for International Women’s Day may be “Digit-All: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality” but there’s certainly more work to be done when it comes to equality.

Lekeita Adderley, an Information Technology project manager tells us that sometimes, when you’re the only woman in the tech field space, some men make the assumption that you’re the note taker, when you’re actually the one about to lead a meeting.

One of the Cable Bahamas Group of Companies’ lead application and support development specialists Tanya Bain says, her way of navigating any potential issues in the workplace is to address them head on.

Application Support Lead, Robyn Rolle says in her experience she has been spared of males discriminating and has actually been offered help from most.

She credits the company culture at the Cable Bahamas Group of Companies but adds that a big part of garnering respect is the ability to compartmentalize and separate emotions from business.
