NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Three suspects are behind bars in relation to three separate murders. 

Prosecutors say a 15-year-old boy is responsible for the shooting murder of 38-year-old Mervin McKinney at Jerome Avenue on Christmas Day.

He was not required to enter a plea to charge and bail was refused.

The teen is due back in court on March 22.

He’s being held at the Juvenile Unit at the Bahamas Department of Corrections.

And 22-year-old Malek Sawyer is accused of the December 22, 2023 murder of 46-year-old Jermaine Williams.

He was ambushed by gunmen as he pulled up to his home at Martin Close off Cowpen Road.

Prosecutors say 34-year-old Tameko Dorsette is responsible for the January 5 beating death of Darrell Ferguson.

Dorsette is accused of striking Ferguson in the head with a piece of wood during an argument on a park in Miller’s Heights.Sawyer and Dorsette have been denied bail.

They return to court on April 26 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
