CHINA – TikTok is reducing its workforce in the advertising and sales unit, cutting jobs in the latest round of tech industry layoffs this year.

The Beijing-based ByteDance-owned platform, with over 150 million U.S. users, cites no specific reason for the cuts.

The move follows similar job reductions at major tech companies, including Amazon-owned Twitch and discord, as the industry grapples with cost-saving measures, collectively shedding over 10,000 jobs in the current year.
